1. What products and services do you offer?
I am a one person show! I am a classically trained goldsmith that makes ones of a kind 22k gold jewelry with beautiful gemstones. Living in New Orleans for 25 years is the inspiration for many of my designs.
22k gold is one of the purest forms of gold and I utilize techniques that have been used for many centuries. I alloy my own gold. From ingots, I roll the gold into wire and sheets. Then, I fabricate and build the jewelry. There is no mass production nor do I use castings.
2. How long have you been in business?
2011 is when I went out on my own – but of course there is more to the story than that.
I have a fine arts jewelry degree and my first round of working in the jewelry world was working for other designers. I was doing all of their marketing and retailing. I then owned a store on Magazine Street for 13 years and had designers from all over the country featured there.
The urge to make my own jewelry was irresistible. Once I got everything into place, I closed my store within two months and went to focus on my own jewelry.
I never identified with production. Craft shows and schlepping my stuff all over the place was an aspect I knew wI didn’t want to participate in. I was going to do this my own way. I also didn’t want to sell my jewelry in someone else’s store or put it on consignment. I honestly like and value working directly with my clients.
3. How do people find you online?
4. What is lesser known about your business that you wish more people knew?
I don’t use any castings or molds to make my jewelry. Preserving this ancient technique is important to me. It’s a slower way of making things and doesn’t lend itself to production.
