The New Orleans Skee-ball and Drinking League are basically what you expect it to be. It’s a group of adults, with a love of skee-ball and competition for the highest scores. The league has ranged from just 6 teams upwards to 20 teams.
The league formed when Jason Mangone, Connecticut native and calling the LGD home now, had a dream and a skee-ball machine. He was moving and couldn’t take the machine to his new place. Because New Orleans is a small city, he was connected with the Halfmoon Bar and the official league was started.
It was one machine for a few years before Jason found another on eBay. He rented a U-Haul and drove to Kentucky and back in 24 hours to help the league grow.
The league is more than just skee-ball and drinking. They host a yearly fundraiser to gather toys for underserved kids in the New Orleans as well.
