Rachel Wheat is a local New Orleans artist that is inspired by everything we are known for. While she took art in high school and college, she ended up with a bachelors degree in Biology.
Rachel’s dad passed away and she was looking for some happiness. She was able to find a creative outlet by turning back to the art she was once so fond of.
Currently, Rachel is a stay-at-home mom that finds time when the kids are at pre-school to create special pieces of art!
1. Tell me more!
I like to paint locally inspired art. Oysters, crabs, and pelicans are very heavy in my rotation. I mainly paint on canvas. My husband is a carpenter so you might catch some of my pieces on wood too!
2. How long have you been in business?
Just a few months. After going to Micheal’s and buying too many canvases, I knew I couldn’t keep them all!
3. How do people find you online?
4. What is lesser known about your business that you wish more people knew?
That I’m here and make and sell art!
5. Lagniappe Info.
I love to create happiness. If it makes someone smile, then I have accomplished something.
Most of my work is sold through Facebook and my friends and family.
