Team Be New Orleans consists of local real estate agents Leslie Heindel & Heather Shields.

Leslie Heindel is a 5th generation New Orleanian, Leslie works with people who love the Crescent City and embrace all the culture and craziness it offers. Leslie knows that when New Orleans touches your soul, you have finally found where you belong. Being a native, she can tell you how the city has changed, how it will continue to change, and what lagniappe means.

Heather Shields moved to New Orleans in 2009 and quickly fell in love with the different architectural styles and community pride in the faubourgs of New Orleans. She spent the first few months getting lost in neighborhoods and meeting the residents that made each special. One adventure led Heather to Algiers Point, the neighborhood she now proudly calls home. It was here, Heather underwent her first major home renovation, which would last five years. This experience gave her a better understanding of what it takes to renovate a New Orleans home- she’s happy to share lessons learned with you.

Two New Orleanians. Two perspectives. One experienced and driven team to help you navigate the one-way streets and of home buying and selling.

1. What products and services do you offer?

We help clients (who almost always turn into friends!) buy, sell, and rent properties in New Orleans and the metro area. Team Be New Orleans is with the real estate brokerage Crescent City Living.

Heather & I pride ourselves on being proactive and taking care of the stress that comes with home buying and selling.

2. How long have you been in business?

Team Be New Orleans formed in late 2018. I have been a licensed real estate agent in New Orleans since 2014 and Heather got licensed in 2016. We have now helped over 100 people buy and sell homes.

3. How do people find you online?

BeNewOrleans.com is where you should start the journey! It has tons of New Orleans neighborhood info and our blog is pretty fun too!

If you want to stalk us on Instagram – check out @beneworleans and @heathershields_realtor

We are also pretty active on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/heathershieldsNOLA/ and https://www.facebook.com/LeslieHeindelNOLA/

4. What is lesser known about your business that you wish more people knew?

Leslie’s answer for Heather: Heather spent 5 years renovating her Algiers Point home! (She will tell you that she never intended it to take that long!) And it’s one of the most beautiful homes you will ever lay your eyes on. Her taste is impeccable.

She knows the most random paint colors and immediately has a vision for your home once she enters it. It’s a pretty amazing skill set. She is also a fiend for New Orleans history. Just ask her about the fleur-de-lis or why we paint our porch ceilings blue.

And if you love classic New Orleans restaurants – Heather is the gal to talk to. She will tell you what to order and who’s got the best champagne!

Heather’s answer for Leslie: Leslie knows New Orleans. No, this goes beyond being an agent or a fifth-generation New Orleanian. She knows New Orleans like no one’s business. Question about the boundaries of neighborhoods? The history of a street name? What’s going on with local ordinances & politics? Where to get sushi? Call her.

She will tell you where to go, what’s happening there and at least one person to ask for when you get there.

You may be asking yourself is she the Oracle of New Orleans? Yeah, you right!

5. Lagniappe Info.

Leslie LOVES mid-century modern homes. If you are even considering selling yours, you should contact her. She might even buy it.

Creole Townhouses are Heather’s absolute favorite. If your front door is open while she’s wandering by, you might have an unexpected guest!

Every listing we have gets the same special attention. Professional photos, video, floor plan and we sit and brainstorm our marketing strategy. Not all houses are the same, but they all deserve the Be New Orleans treatment.

We always get professional photos taken of our rental listings too. They are proven to rent faster that way.
