Houses on the Market for over a year: Fall 2021

You’re lucky in the current New Orleans real estate market if a house stays on the market longer than a week. With the lack of inventory combined with lower interest rates, homes are scooped up quickly, typically with bidding wars.

Some houses don’t sell as quickly, though. Whatever the reason may be that these homes are still available is unknown to us. However, sometimes if a house has been up for grabs for over a year – then you might have a chance at negotiating a deal!

Check out the four New Orleans homes that have been on the market for over a year:

#1: 1039 Louisa

1039 Louisa | Listed by Samar Poche & Jennifer Saltformaggio with Latter & Blum

1039 Louisa in the Bywater has been on the market for over 670 days. With all the unique details and commercial zoning, it is curious why it’s still on the market! Throw in yard space and over 2000 square feet of living area – this one leaves us scratching our heads that no one has grabbed this home! Check out the listing here.

#2: 4465 San Marco

Listed by Nina Loup & Nicole Herrington-Loup with Latter & Blum

4465 San Marco can be found in the outskirts of New Orleans, in Venetian Isles. While this house has been on the market for over 560 days, all we can guess is that no one has figured out what a gem of a neighborhood it is! Venetian Isles offers waterfront homes for those who love to fish and enjoy outdoor activities on the water. Check out the water views here.

#3: 7 English Turn Dr.

Listed by Ricky Lemann with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Preferred

This English Turn Georgian Home is not going to be for just anyone. Listed for almost 550 days, this is a home waiting for the perfect buyer! (Where are the Saints players?!)

This stately house is in a gated community found in Lower Coast Algiers – which, if you’re not familiar, it’s a quiet and tucked away portion of the city. Check out the rest of the photos here!

#4: 518 Conti

Listed by Monica Caldarera & George Jeansonne with French Quarter Realty

This commercially zoned building has been on the scenes for the most prolonged time at over 670 days. But, we have a feeling why that is… It’s only for a person who would love an income-producing commercial space, striking architectural details, and one of the best locations in the Quarter. Why this building hasn’t been snagged is beyond us – because it’s one that we would love to have!
