New Orleans Luxury Homes: July 2020

Luxury Homes New Orleans 2020

Luxury Homes in New Orleans are more than just a price tag. There are many homes listed for sale that are over a million dollars; however, they may be in need of some serious renovations.

What is considered a luxury home?

Here at Be New Orleans, we consider a luxury home to be in a highly sought after location, high-end finishes, special or one-of-a-kind details, and is in the top percentile of pricing.

Today, we are showing you our personal favorite luxury homes that are on the market and available for purchase – as of July 23, 2020.

1350 Camp, Lower Garden District

Listed for $849k, 1350 Camp is the least expensive luxury home that we are featuring. Overlooking Coliseum Park in the Lower Garden District, you could enjoy your morning coffee while sitting on your gallery and watch residents walk their dogs down below. This home is approximately 160 years old and has city views for days!

The great stuff: The color choices, the hardwood floors, and the detailed molding are all swoon-worthy. I’m loving the light fixture choices in the double parlor.

The good stuff: Off-street parking in the LGD is HARD to come by. 1350 Camp has two, gated parking spots. That slate courtyard, with a functioning fountain, will make you think you’re living in the French Quarter.

The not-as-good-stuff: With only 2 bedrooms, this townhouse-style home may have you yearning for a little more room. The location makes it all worth-while!

1922 Burgundy, Marigny

1922 Burgundy in the Marigny Triangle is being offered for $1.69M. At 145-years-old, this house has 5 bedrooms and almost 3000 square feet of living space. Just blocks from the French Quarter, this unique home is totally Instagram-worthy.

The great stuff: The swimming pool! As most New Orleanians know, it’s hard to come across a pool – especially in denser areas like the Marigny. This is the perfect pool for sipping a glass of wine and cooling off.

The good stuff: Specially decorated and with wallpaper for days, you’re either gonna love it or hate it. Even if you’re not in love with the trimmings, the wood trim, soaring ceilings, and picture molding might win you over.

The not-as-good-stuff: There is no parking with this Marigny estate. You are relegated to street parking. Keep in mind though, you can likely walk to your favorite places!

Lagniappe: Because it is zoned commercially, you could potentially use it as an STR. We would like to think that you make this your grand home though.

461 Pine St., Audubon

Offered at $2.985M, this Audubon home is truly a one-of-a-kind estate. You’re just not going to find another home like this on the New Orleans market right now. 461 Pine is on an oversized lot and has over 5000 square feet of living space – making this ideal for someone who needs plenty of space.

The great stuff: The pool, the garden, and the koi pond with a Japenese tea garden feel are making my heart go pitter-patter. Whether you need to draw inspiration or want quiet time, this outdoor living space can provide you with whatever you need.

The good stuff: The greenhouse-like bathtub room. Yep. That’s a thing. Go check out the photos – I will be here waiting. It’s really cool. There are also two ensuite bedrooms, hardwood floors, and a theater room.

The not-as-good stuff: The kitchen and remaining bathrooms leave a little to be desired. But, it’s nothing you can’t change later on!

Lagniappe: The 3 car garage is the icing on the cake.

1516 Robert, Uptown

1516 Robert Luxury New Orleans Home For Sale

1516 Robert St. is only one house from St. Charles Avenue and currently listed at $4.995M. At over 8000 square feet and a lot size of 138 x 125, you are the envy of all of your friends in this Uptown stunner!

The great stuff: It’s hard to pick out favorite things about this home – but the wine cellar ranks pretty high! With a more modern feel, we are also gushing over the Baccarat & Lladro chandeliers.

Don’t zoom past the kitchen photos either, because it’s worth really taking in. It’s begging you to entertain!

The good stuff: The saltwater pool is a definite bonus for our hot summers in New Orleans! Also, we can’t forget to mention the water filtration system throughout the house.

The not-as-good stuff: The carpeted bedrooms aren’t our favorite things at 1516 Robert. Although, it’s a very easy fix!

Lagniappe: The mosquito misting system, whole-home generator, and elevator to the guest suite round out this Uptown estate.
