A place in the clouds, a foundation of stone.

Calling outdoor enthusiasts! If you like activities, City Park and Parkview neighborhoods will not disappoint. You have a literal park as your front or backyard. You can putt-putt, golf, and even meditate under a tree. They offer country club amenities minus the membership, gate or stuffiness.  Just know while you may be clamoring to find a place to call your own, the residents of these neighborhoods are in LOVE with where they live and tend to stay put for the long haul.  Between top-notch dining options, fantastic botanical & sculpture gardens, New Orleans Museum of Art and lots of wide-open spaces, who wouldn’t want to call this area home?

The City Park neighborhood is mainly the actual park – which is 1300 acres. You will find a few homes within walking distance and they have primarily raised basement and Art & Crafts homes, with some raised cottages sprinkled in.

The Parkview neighborhood is compromised of only 12 blocks. In 1995, it was named a Historic District under the National Register of Historic Places. Many homes in Parkview have garages and driveways – a luxury not found in many New Orleans neighborhoods. When being developed, much thought was put into what the neighborhood should look like. Utility lines are typically run in the back of the homes while gorgeous street lamps line the streets.

Lagniappe: The Parkview neighborhood was named after a woman from Eunice, LA won a contest to name the development in 1922. City Park was once the site of the Allard Plantation.
