Tuesday, November 29th

  • What: Lobby Lighting Ceremony 
  • Where: The Roosevelt Hotel, 130 Roosevelt Way 
  • Time: 5:00-5:45pm
  • Info/Lagniappe: Irma Thomas, The Roosevelt’s official lobby lighter this year, will kick off the holiday season with the flip of a switch, igniting the lobby in sparkling lights. The public is invited to experience the lobby lighting, which will take place by 5:15 p.m., followed by a champagne toast. The block long lobby display will feature more than 112,000 lights, 1,600 feet of garland and 4,000 glass ornaments adorning the beloved Waldorf Wonderland in the hotel’s grand lobby. This gorgeous display tells a spirited story, showcasing the best of New Orleans and the holidays through a classic theme designed to wow crowds each year.

  • What: Tiny Food Workshop
  • Where: Bayou Wine Garden, 315 N Rendon
  • Time: 5:00pm
  • Info/Lagniappe: Join us and our dear friend Remy from C’Mere for an evening of crafting and drinking! We will be creating beautiful cheese & charcuterie magnets / ornaments to get us in the holiday spirit! Bayou Wine Garden will provide a glass of wine and some snackage. Remy will provide her expert know how in creating your masterpiece. Tickets are $25 a person, including your class, glass, and shared snack.

  • What: The Amazing Acro-Cats Meowy Catmas Special!
  • Where: Allways Lounge & Cabaret, 2240 St Claude

Saturday, December 3rd

  • What: Algiers Bonfire
  • Where: Algiers Ferry Landing
  • Time: 5:30-9:00pm
  • Info/Lagniappe: Algiers’ biggest annual holiday celebration and New Orleans’ only official holiday bonfire, the Algiers Bonfire is the neighborhood’s largest public event and pays tribute to Louisiana’s river parish bonfire tradition. Listen to musical performances, eat food from local vendors, and shop at the holiday craft market. The star of the event however, is the 30’ sculptural bonfire, designed by NOLA Burners, which is then set ablaze. Easily accessible with the Algiers ferry, and with the New Orleans’ skyline as the perfect backdrop, this event cannot be missed!

  • What: Swamp Fête 
  • Where: Audubon Zoo, 6500 Magazine 
  • Time: 10:00am – 4:30pm
