  • Where: NOLA Boards, 4228 Magazine
  • Time: 6:30-8:00pm
  • Info/Lagniappe: Green fairies, come out to play. Let’s put to rest the folk tales of ABSINTHE and learn what it really is, what it tastes like and how to mix with it. It undeservedly got a bad rap for over 100 years. Now it is legal and back in our good graces. We will explore some history (there’s a lot to unpack), how it became so popular in drinking culture and what to do with it these days.

A New Orleans Tradition that helped free the slaves: Sample this “better than a beignet” dish while learning the importance of a simple New Orleans pastry and its impact on history. New Orleans 6th ward native Dianne “Gumbo Marie” Honore’ is a local history buff, event producer and award winning cultural preservationist who founded the Black Storyville Baby Dolls™, the Amazons Benevolent Society™, and co-founded Unheard Voices of Louisiana™.

  • What: Trick or Treat Treasure Hunt
  • Where: LOOP NOLA, 1031 Harrison Ave
  • Time: 3:30-7:30pm
  • Info/Lagniappe: Never gone trick-or-treating by canoe in City Park? Here’s your chance for a family friendly adventure you’re sure to remember. Families receive a map and paddle off to find where spooky characters have hidden their candy troves. Costumes are encouraged! All experience levels and ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The adventure lasts around an hour, with optional activities like games and s’mores available when you return to shore.
