Back in 2013, local artist Jen Blanchard opened a gallery and studio for local artists in Algiers Point. Due to changes in the operation of the Algiers ferry, she had to close the business. Closing her personal gallery has since given Jen the freedom to focus solely on her art.  She now displays her work in other galleries and shops throughout the city.

Before the gallery, Jen has been a life-long artist. Even as a child you could find her selling art to her mother’s friends.

After 3 months of pottery classes with Debbie Kraemer at DK Clay Pottery Studio, Jen knew she wanted to pursue ceramics even more. The push she needed was after the death of her mother followed by the death of a close personal friend. This personal tragedy was something that Jen turned around to help her pursue her goal to be a professional artist.
