New Orleans is a far cry from a city you would typically associate with country clubs – but there are many residents who want them. Pool, tennis, golf, and a clubhouse are all amenities that many seek out when purchasing their New Orleans home.
Some neighborhoods in the greater New Orleans area include membership to their country club when you own a home in the subdivision. Other country clubs require you to join and pay membership dues whether you live there or not.
While the city limits of New Orleans do not offer many options for country clubs, you don’t have to travel far to find one. If having a country club mere minutes from you is a must-have, then check out some of the many country clubs in the New Orleans metro area.
Park Timbers Country Club is located in front of the Park Timbers subdivision in Algiers. This New Orleans neighborhood requires its residents to pay HOA dues, but membership for the country club is an additional fee. Park Timbers offers a fitness center, adult and kiddie pool, and tennis courts. It’s $395/year for Park Timbers residents and $495/year for non-residents.
English Turn can be found in Lower Coast Algiers. Only 15 minutes to downtown, you can live the gated community life without sacrificing location. With lots of options, your membership can include golf, tennis, swimming, fitness, or just social membership. Residents of English Turn are required to pay for these amenities as well.
Terrytown Country Club is open to the public and not reserved for those living in Terrytown only. They allow guests to bring in their own food and drink options while also providing a concession stand. Four tennis courts, a competition-size pool, kiddie pool, party rental areas, and other games can be found on-premises too.
Lakeside Country Club can be found in Metairie in Bucktown. Membership is $575/year and includes their gym, swimming pool, and tennis courts. The bar and grill are popular among guests and they even have a summer camp for kids for an additional fee. The Pontchartrain Room is available for rental too.
Located in Kenner, Chateau prides itself on excellent service and first-class amenities. They have an 18-hole Champion golf course with a driving range and practice greens. Chateau also boasts nine tennis courts, swimming pools, and multiple dining and lounge areas. Weddings and events are also hosted on-site.
Found at the corner of Transcontinental and W. Napoleon, Green Acres Country Club is great for everyone in your family. Swimming, tennis, fitness center, summer camp, and room rental are all available. The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Timberlane was the first private country club open on the Westbank! Par 72 golf course, two sand volleyball courts, two tennis courts, a swimming pool, and Cafe Hope are all on-site. Timberlane is known for their social events held for members too, including the Not-So-Haunter Hayride and Kentucky Derby event.
Located in New Orleans suburbs Gretna and Harvey, Stonebridge has long been a desirable neighborhood. Undergoing some major renovations, the Stonebridge Country Club is moving in a direction to wow their, and other Westbank, residents. The golf course has never looked better and will be enhanced in the near future. The pool is slated to be open by summer 2020 with tennis courts to follow. Stonebridge is also building small and large event spaces so Westbankers have options for weddings and corporate events without crossing the Crescent City Connection. Residents of this subdivision started paying on a 20 years assessment for these upgrades in 2019.
