Peaceful Ponchartrain Park

The New Orleans neighborhoods of Pontchartrain Park & Gentilly Woods are mostly residential other than a few strip malls here and there. These are neighborhoods were everyone knows each other and the older residents can tell you stories about the old Maison Blanche that was located at Frenchmen & Gentilly Rd. Fast forward to today and you won’t find large department store anymore, but you will find Gentilly Fest in the fall and a very active neighborhood association.

Here’s a look at a few of their locally owned businesses!

Ponchartrain Landing

Ponchartrain Landing is a marina and RV resort situated between the Industrial Canal and the entrance to Lake Ponchartrain. This mixed-use resort offers something unique to a relatively solitary area of the city. Ponchartrain Landing features several cabins and RVs for rent, fully equipped RV sites, and a boat slip. The restaurant has an adjoining event space if you’re looking for a locale for a reception or family reunion. Shuttle service runs to the French Quarter three times a day for visitor’s convenience. Ponchartrain Landing is the perfect out of the way spot to spend your next staycation.
