Kelly Hopkins Brown, of KHB Interiors, spent time this fall at the High Point Furniture Market to bring us back the latest in interior design trends!
Kelly explains, “High Point furniture market, located in High Point, North Carolina takes place twice a year, in the spring in April and in October in the fall. It is the largest furniture market in the world with over 10,000,000 ft.² with roughly 2000 exhibitors spanning through all of High Point with approximately 180 buildings. Every market there are over 80,000 attendees from over 100 different companies. Any designer who wants to stay on-trend is going to be seen at High Point.”
She continues, “This is where KHB Interiors will discover new vendors, reconnect with our current vendors and we are able to preview new introductions, preview new fabric, and touch and feel fabrics and rugs. We get to sit in sofa sectionals, swivel chairs, and more that we later recommend for our clients. We get to visit new art, touch and feel the case goods. Also, we get to spend time learning!”
High Point Trends as seen by KBH Interiors:
- Color in Control
- Chairs with Interest
- Long and lanky media stands
So, what’s in a chair?
When asking Kelly about these chairs with interest, she told us “Chairs are not just for sitting. They are statement pieces and can be a work of art. We saw the use of wood and metals exposed in metallic and earthy tones on the backs of chairs greeting you as you enter their home.”
She implored us, “Don’t go boring with a basic chair choice!”
Media Stands
Kelly reminded us, “With so many of us constantly upgrading our TV’s – be sure your furniture can sit long and lean beneath your TV. Curved. Mirror. Metal with wood. There are so many options!”
