  • What: Historical Umbrella Workshop with Dianne Honoré
  • Where: The Cabildo, 701 Place John Paul Deaux
  • Time: 6:00-11:45pm
  • Info/Lagniappe: Kick off festival season by creating your own historically inspired umbrella with Dianne Honoré, a cultural preservationist, costumer, Baby Doll, and Big Queen of the Yellow Pocahontas Black Masking Indians! Participants will explore the history and traditions of second lines and Baby Dolls, see artifacts from the museum collection, and create their own umbrella for festivals with sequins, feathers, and more! Light refreshments will be provided. Tickets are $30/person and $25 for Friends of the Cabildo and Louisiana Museum Foundation members. This event is aimed at participants ages 14+.

  • What: Cajun Secrets to Garden Carpentry

Most importantly, participants will identify the tools and materials and processes needed to complete the tool box project, while maintaining a safe working environment.
