  • What: The Barman’s Fund Memorial Day Crawfish Boil
  • Where: Ugly Dog Saloon, 401 Andrew Higgins 
  • Time: 11:00am-6:00pm
  • Info/Lagniappe: We back baby for our 10th Annual Memorial Day Crawfish Boil benefitting Help for Heroes of Greater New Orleans. 8 local teams will battle head to head for the Chris Heyn Memorial Trophy and bragging rights by boiling the best crawfish. As always, admission is free and the festivities are all ages. The bartender dunking booth is back as well as a crawfish eating contest!

  • What: To Kill A Mockingbird
  • Where: The Saenger Theatre, 1111 Canal
  • Time: 7:30pm
  • Info/Lagniappe: With direction by Tony Award® winner Bartlett Sher, Harper Lee’s TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD — “the greatest novel of all time” (Chicago Tribune) — has quickly become “one of the greatest plays in history” (NPR). Wednesday, May 31st

  • What: Let’s Make a Plant Stand
  • Where: Community Workshop NOLA, 3142 Calhoun 
  • Time: 6:00-9:00pm
  • Info/Lagniappe: In this workshop, participants will learn to use the mitersaw, drills, pocket hole jig, and sanders to make a plant stand shelf. Participants will also learn about “finishing” techniques. Shelves will be sanded in class and can be painted, stained, or polyurethaned at home. The dimensions of the shelf are roughly 20″ wide by 4′ tall but can be customized to fit your space.
