Join me and take a dive into one of the O.G. spirits. This one goes way back. We will hear a little history, how it became so grand, and why it has fallen out of favor with the masses in the modern era. She’s still one of my favorite ingredients. Join us!

  • What: “A Better Life For Their Children” Opening Event 
  • Where: Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience, 818 Howard Ave
  • Time: 5:30pm
  • Info/Lagniappe: Photographs and stories. A Better Life for Their Children memorializes the Rosenwald schools, one of the most quietly successful Black education programs in American history. The Southern program, developed through the partnership of Sears, Roebuck president and noted Jewish philanthropist Julius Rosenwald and Tuskegee Institute founder Booker T. Washington, changed the South, and America, for the better, narrowing the Black-white education gap that plagued Southern and border states, strengthening Black-Jewish relations, paving the way for the civil rights movement, and helping to build a new African American middle class.
