Sheila Chauvin’s superpower is being a claims specialist by day and an artist by night. She works out of both her home studio and in the wild at her cabin in the woods. She’s involved in several local arts organizations and enjoys the company of other artists. She’s proud of her West Bank roots but has a love for the entire city of New Orleans and her hometown of Lafayette.
1. What products and services do you offer?
I offer canvas paintings and painted furniture, working in both oil and acrylic mediums. I have a love for vibrant color and texture, with many of my works having a three-dimensional aspect. I create both abstract and representational art.
2. How long have you been in business?
I began painting about five years ago, and added painted furniture to the mix two years ago.
3. How do people find you online?

4. What is lesser known about your business that you wish more people knew?
All my representational paintings begin with a hand-drawn sketch but I don’t always have a plan for the end result. As I work, I let the painting speak to me and direct the final outcome.

Editor’s Note: I bought Sheila’s first piece of art she ever sold! I own many of her abstract pieces and they are truly one of a kind!
