I’ve (Jennifer Timphony) been surrounded by entrepreneurship my entire life as my parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles have all owned and operated businesses in the New Orleans Metro area for the past 40+ years. I always knew I wanted to do something creative and own my own business. So when I finally finished college (after earning a Film degree and going back for a Graphic Design degree) and entered the workforce, it only took about 6 months to realize that a 9-5 job was not for me. I began fantasizing about Yat Cat until I finally decided to quit my job at the digital marketing agency and go for it!
1. What products and services do you offer?
I design and screenprint eclectic tees and accessories inspired by cats, New Orleans, nature and whatever I surround myself with. I hope to expand my services to custom screenprinting and workshops in the future!
2. How long have you been in business?
I’ve been planning and prepping Yat Cat for almost a year now but have only been making sales for about 8 months.
3. How do people find you online?
4. What is lesser known about your business that you wish more people knew?
That I print all of my own stuff! I actually fell in love with screen printing before designing and depending on my mood, it’s what I enjoy doing most about my business.
5. Lagniappe Info.
My company is named after and mostly inspired by my cat Jolie (JoJo for short) because I constantly taunt her with “where y’at cat” as I inquire about her shenanigans.
