Born & raised in New Orleans, Lady Walker can be found crafting away in her Marigny home. She’s always had a penchant for making her own costumes and toys. As a kid, she would make her own play computer and cash register with pipe cleaners and boxes. Lady’s love of DIY followed her in adulthood. She took her skills and extra energy and decided to start selling some of her pieces.

Most of Lady’s pieces are furry woodland creatures – which are good for Mardi Gras, MidSummer Mardi Gras, Halloween, and other events. She sometimes makes spooky stuff, but mainly it’s all universal.

BONUS INFO! Lady Walker is also a photographer. After you’re done getting dressed up as nymphs, you can hire her for a photo shoot.

1. Tell me about your business.

I am currently making Halloween costumes, prosthetic horns, headpieces, and unicorn stuff.

2. How long have you been in business?

I’ve been a crafter my whole life. As a kid, I was constantly making stuff. In the last 5 years, I really got into making costumes. But I didn’t start selling them till about a year ago.

I was posting my costumes on the internet and people would ask if I could make them one, so that’s how it all started.

3. How do people find you online?

4. What is lesser known about your business that you wish more people knew?

I can make custom creations too. It’s more than just what you see on my Instagram account. I can bring your idea to life.

5. What’s your favorite aspect or piece you’ve worked on?

My favorite piece is the Maleficent costume I made myself for Mardi Gras. It got a lot of attention and looked really cool. Also, this other dress I made that mimicked Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones. It’s a toss-up between the two.

My favorite aspect of this comes back to when 7 months ago I decided to live a sober life. Crafting has been a good outlet to expend the energy I used to waste drinking. I get to express myself while on this journey of self-exploration and change. And I get to express myself by making cool pieces that end up on someone’s head!
