New Year’s Eve 2017

What are you doing on New Year’s Eve?

 

You’re going to answer that question about 100 times before it’s over. But the real question is, what are you doing? If you’re anything like me, you have no clue at this point. You’re scrambling to see what is going on or texting the friends who always know what’s up. Let this be the year you take control and decide! After a whole lot of searching, I have gathered a list that could make a variety of crowds happy. Happy New Year’s, everyone!

 

For the Kids! 

Zoo Year’s Eve @ Audubon Zoo – Take the kids to ring in the New Year at noon! Event is from 10:30am – 12:30pm

 

New Year’s Eve Party @ Louisiana Children’s Museum – Make unique paper hats and countdown the New Year at noon with a confetti & balloon drop.

 

For the Parade Lover

All State Sugar Bowl Parade – Starts around 2:30 (you know how we are) in the Marigny & ends on Canal.

 

For the People who don’t mind going Downtown

Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve Celebration – Watch the fireworks over the river & the fleur-de-lis drop at Jax Brewery. There will be celebrity guests & nationally known acts to help keep the party going.

 

For the Comedy Lover

Amy Schumer, with special guest Ani DiFranco, should make for a very interesting way to celebrate the new year. Show starts at 8pm.

 

For the Fitness & Energy Folks

Yoga on Tap – Get your yoga flow on at Bayou Wine Garden before watching the Saints take on the Bucs.

 

Reiki Energy Clearing Class – Remove obstacles & clear your energy before 2018 knocks on your door. Class is from 4:15pm-6:15pm.

 

Retreat with Mid-City Zen – An evening with quiet reflection with intention that will have meditation through the midnight hour with 108 rings of the bell. 7:30pm-12:15am

 

For the Park People

Fireworks @ Crescent Park – Bring a chair & pop a squat at Crescent Park. Free & open to the public, you will have a great view of the midnight fireworks.

 

For the All Ages Show Crowd

Tank & the Bangas @ Joy Theater – Show is all ages & doors open at 8pm. Sweet Crude, Alfred Banks, & DJ RQ Away will be on hand too!

 

For the Local Bar Peeps

The Rusty Nail – The Nail will have local group, Where Y’acht, playing from 9:30pm – 12:30am. They are hyping the champagne toast at midnight & much, much more!

 

Finn McCool’s NYE Extravaganza – Finn’s will be counting down multiple times, starting at 4pm with South Africa, Dutch New Year’s at 5, & Irish New Year’s at 6pm & then again for ours! Free food & champagne for the toasts.

 

Hi-Ho Lounge Bounce Into the New Year – From 10pm – 2am, bring your best bounce moves to celebrate the New Year. 21 and up, no cover charge.
