Your kids are about to be free from the imprisonment of school. Now, what do you do with them? You can’t take the whole summer off, as much as you would like to. Unless you’ve got an amazing babysitter to take them all day long, they need to find a summer camp to attend. Summer camps have come a long way since we were kids! Here are some sure to be fun options for the younger ones.
Dryades YMCA, located a few blocks from St. Charles in New Orleans neighborhood Central City, is promising swimming lessons, arts & crafts, field trips, and more! They have partnered with STEM NOLA to add science, technology, and math into their camp. Camp runs from June 4th- July 20th.
If you’ve been dying for your child to learn Spanish, you have found a camp for that! Not only will your child learn Spanish, but they will also have an opportunity to learn about leadership & empowerment. All the staff is bilingual and they are eco-friendly! Camp runs from May 21-August 17 – one of the longest-running camps you will find in town!
Head down to New Orleans neighborhood, Lower Coast to send the kids to Sugar Roots Farm summer camp. It’s a weekly summer camp that teaches kids how to appreciate animals and the Earth. They will get to feed farm animals, learn how to ride a horse, learn about organic farming, zip-line and more! Go to their site to reserve your child’s spot.
