Broadmoor resident, Blair Tiller, is not new to the kitchen scene. She most recently worked as the pastry chef and sous chef at Compere Lapin for the last 2 years. She’s worked at Michelin starred restaurants and trained under James Beard winners. It was time for Blair to venture out on her on though.
Blair & Seasonally Savvy Kitchen offers services from small to large events, cooking classes, private chef, and cakes and sweet treats. With her genuine enthusiasm for delicious food, you will fall in love with her immediately. Then after you try Blair’s brown butter chocolate chip cookie or her signature french onion grilled cheese, you might just start stalking her.
1. Tell me about Seasonally Savvy Kitchen.
We are an ingredient-focused, New American style pop-up kitchen. New American means I can do whatever I want. But it has a southeastern Louisiana & Italian flair.
2. How long have you been in business?
We are going on 6 months right now. I left Compere Lapin back in April to make this my full-time gig. Nina Compton was great about me leaving there – she knew I needed to spread my wings and fly.
3. How do people find you online?
4. What is lesser known about your business that you wish more people knew?
I can curate culinary events of all types to fit your budget and tastes. I also offer cooking classes. I typically go to someone’s home, bring recipes, the food, aprons – the whole works – and I show you how to make some great recipes. Those typically take about 4-5 hours.
5. Give me all the lagniappe info.
My mom passed away this last December and it woke me up. It made me realize that I worked for all these top chefs and I was uplifting them. It was time to uplift myself. So, here I am.
My favorite aspect of all of this is that it’s all for myself. The struggle is real some days and I make mistakes and learn from them. But it’s truly all me. I’m always striving to be the best version of me and this has really taught me a lot.
Eventually, I would like to start a supper club series, so be on the lookout for that too!
