There are plenty of places in New Orleans to buy a beautiful Christmas tree. I crowdsourced the very best people I know (meaning all my Facebook friends) & asked where their favorite spots were. Here are the top 3!
Perino’s Garden Center
While Perino’s Garden Center is in Metairie, they have been a staple for all New Orleanians for over 60 years. You don’t stay in business that long if you’re not doing a fantastic job!
They have a huge selection of trees available. If you like flocked trees- they’ve got them. They even have some small trees for people who don’t want something too big!
I don’t know how long they have been open, but it’s clearly been many years. It seemed as if everyone in Lakeview and Gentilly descends upon this place for their trees. They are located at the corner of Robert E Lee & Paris Ave. Toy Soldier Trees also touts that they are the “best & the cheapest”!
The place next to Piccadilly on the Westbank
This tree location, that appears to not have a name, is next to the Piccadilly, on Lapalco. For those of you not familiar with where this is – it’s on the Westbank! They had quite a selection of regular Christmas trees. To me, the main appeal of going there, is the array of flocked trees that are colored!
They had different shades of blue, pinks, reds, & even black trees! (That’s gotta be for the people who want to decorate it all with Saints ornaments!)
If you really want a smaller, Charlie Brown tree – you’re going to hit the Whole Foods Uptown while they still have them!
